Inpatient

By hardwiring discharge planning processes using Qventus, M Health Fairview teams are consistently able establish early discharge plans and manage care progression for each patient.

This starts during their daily care progression huddles, when teams use Qventus to guide the discussion for each patient — making rounds highly efficient. Machine learning predicts the estimated date of discharge and disposition, for example, so that every patient has a discharge plan early in their stay. And, automation workflows prioritize orders to reduce manual communication steps with ancillaries, proactively resolving barriers to achieve a safe, on-time discharge.

Command Center

To drive greater systemness, M Health Fairview centralized teams and resources in an enterprise-wide mission control. But instead of taking a traditional command center where teams manually review data to identify issues, M Health Fairview needed a system that gave staff real-time visibility and surfaced actionable opportunities.

Qventus Command Center Solution makes it easier for M Health Fairview’s centralized teams to manage system flow and capacity. AI-powered predictions help teams see where bottlenecks will likely develop so that they can proactively mitigate them, such as morning discharges that may not go according to plan, or where EDs could become overcrowded. The intelligence also proactively optimizes patient admissions and transfers, enabling rapid load-balancing of resources across the system.

Perioperative

In order to recover surgical volumes and margins eroded by the pandemic, M Health Fairview is driving perioperative growth by automating OR scheduling processes using Qventus.

The solution unlocks additional OR time by using machine learning to predict unused blocks weeks in advance, and then encourages release of that time back to M Health Fairview’s ORs. The software proactively offers OR time to surgeons and schedulers and also provides a reservation interface for them to view and request OR time — without logging into the EHR. What’s more, M Health Fairview leaders and surgeons can monitor their operational performance in real-time.

Emergency Department

To minimize ED delays and mitigate crowding, M Health Fairview automated ED patient flow with Qventus. Machine learning predicts when a bottleneck in the ED begins to emerge and automatically prompts teams to take targeted action. Now, teams have real-time visibility into ED flow and can get ahead of potential issues.
