Reducing excess days and increasing throughput at the busiest trauma center in Ohio

OhioHealth is based in Columbus, Ohio, and boasts 15 hospitals and 35,000 associates, physicians, and volunteers. Its Level I Trauma Center at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center is the busiest in the state. 60,000 people are admitted to their emergency departments annually, and OhioHealth takes the experience of every patient at the hospital seriously. They needed a way to become more efficient so they could continue to improve patient care for the communities they serve.

Prior to working with Qventus, discharges at OhioHealth were time consuming and inefficient because they were relying solely on their EHR for case management and discharge planning. It was nearly impossible to identify what was impacting their LOS.
