Challenge

As a regional destination for care, Saint Luke’s needed to improve operational efficiency in order to accommodate increasing demand for services. With fewer available resources due to staffing challenges, the system needed to optimize existing staff while simultaneously reducing their workload.

But despite maximizing their EHR implementation, Saint Luke’s teams still relied on highly manual tools and processes. To take their operations to the next level, they needed new enterprise automation capabilities, so they turned to Qventus as a strategic partner to transform their care operations.

Perioperative

To accommodate pent up demand for OR time, Saint Luke’s is using the Qventus predictive capabilities to improve utilization and increase perioperative access and growth.

Machine learning predicts unused blocks weeks in advance and proactively offers available OR time to surgeons and schedulers. As a result, Qventus is helping Saint Luke’s serve more patients, with fewer open OR rooms and fewer available staff, allowing them to exceed budgeted surgical case volumes.

Inpatient

Qventus has helped Saint Luke’s frontline teams shift discharge planning upstream, while patient-level intelligence reduces frontline workload to establish and update discharge plans.

The Qventus intelligence auto-populates and suggests EDDs, dispositions, and barriers early in the stay and helps care teams keep them up to date. This makes it easier for teams to make sure the discharge plan is accurate and up to date. Key information is then written back to the EHR, which reduces documentation burden, as well as duplication of communication.

Command Center

To maximize throughput and reduce the burden on the Saint Luke’s staff, the Qventus Command Center Solution automates routine decisions and enables them to optimize workflows. The Qventus machine learning analyzes, predicts and provides advanced visibility into an incoming demand. And when the solution detects potential bottlenecks, it nudges key stakeholders to proactively collaborate to get ahead of them.
